We plant a tree with every purchase!

Plant a Treespace

Our goal is to plant 100K new trees.  Is this a big goal? Well yes...of course it is but we can do it and it's TOTALLY worth the efforts!  From inception, we knew that we wanted to build Fab Design Company as an eco-friendly business which is why our greeting cards, invitations, and gift tags are made using vegetable based inks with low VOC emissions and the paper contains up to 55% post-consumer recycled content. These processes help to preserve the environment while our Plant a Tree Initiative provides a way for constructive action.  By planting trees, we are actively contributing to the development and restoration of our natural resources.

When you purchase from Fab Design Company, you are making a difference! Simply put - we believe that small gestures can have a BIG impact which is why we have partnered with the National Forest Foundation to plant a tree with every order.  You also have the opportunity to dedicate your tree during checkout.  The NFF is a non-profit partner of the U.S. Forest Service that works diligently to promote the health and public enjoyment of our 193 million acre National Forest System.  In addition to planting trees to ensure a sustainable future for the many resources our National Forests and Grasslands provide, our donations to NFF help restore National Forests that have been damaged by wildfire, insects, disease and other impacts.

Trees are one of our most important natural resources and the world would suffer without their benefits.  As the longest living organisms on the planet, trees provide oxygen and help to combat climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing the carbon and then releasing the oxygen back into the air.  One mature tree produces enough oxygen to support a couple for one year.  Trees also clean the air by absorbing odors and pollutant gases.  They block cold winds, offer cooling shade and conserve energy by reducing the energy demand for cooling our houses and businesses which also reduces carbon dioxide and other pollution emissions from power plants.  In fact, trees that are properly placed around buildings can reduce air conditioning needs by 30% and can save 20–50% in energy used for heating.  Trees also clean our water, prevent soil erosion, provide food, serve as a canopy and habitat for wildlife, reduce noise, provide wood, raise property values, and create economic opportunities.  They have healing effects and provide grace and beauty to our communities and the entire planet. Trees are simply FABULOUS and we hope that you'll join us in our efforts!

  • The shade and wind buffering provided by trees reduces annual heating and cooling costs by 2.1 billion dollars.
  • A single tree produces approximately 260 pounds of oxygen per year.
  • Two mature trees can supply enough oxygen annually to support a family of four
  • Forested watersheds provide quality drinking water to more than 180 million Americans
  • More than 20% of the world’s oxygen is produced in the Amazon Rainforest according to the Rain Forest Alliance
  • One tree can absorb as much carbon in a year as a car produces while driving 26,000 miles.
  • Over the course of its life, a single tree can absorb one ton of carbon dioxide.
  • About one third of the United States of America is covered by forestland.
  • The average tree in an urban/city area has a life expectancy of only 8 years.
The tallest tree in the country is a Coast Redwood growing in northern California’s Redwood National Park. Remarkably, it's 369 feet tall and over 2000 years old!
